Saraswati Beej Mantra

The common short mantra of Saraswati, goddess of learning, speech and music: Om, the seed syllable Aim (Beej), then a bow to Saraswati. Aim is regarded as the seed of speech and knowledge. This is a mantra of tradition, not a Vedic verse, and it is not the Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu verse. Students chant it, often 108 times, on Vasant Panchami and before study.
