Two well-known verses of prayer to Saraswati. The first describes her as white as the kunda flower, the moon and snow, seated on a white lotus with the veena in her hand, and asks her to remove all dullness. The second praises her as holder of the veena and book and giver of wisdom. They are recited by students, at the start of study and on Vasant Panchami.
